~* When you wish upon a star.. *~

Hello everyone!!!! I am so sorry to not have written in such a long time. The education program has been keeping me busy, but I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Over these last few months I have been able to participate in many wonderful events. Back in September I had the opportunity to meet our beautiful Miss America Katie Stam! Meeting Katie was a dream come true, and definitely motivated me to continue to work hard towards my dream of being Miss Illinois/ Miss America. Katie is a very beautiful, intelligent, and inspirational woman!

Later on in the month I participated in Gospel on the Green at Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville Illinois. At this event I painted children's faces to raise money for Zion youth. I had so much fun with these kids and enjoyed painting the many creative designs the children asked for!

At the beginning of October I attended the Miss Illinois Image Seminar. This event was very informational, and I feel that I learned a lot. It was so nice to catch up with other contestants, and Erin our Miss Illinois. I even got to meet Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2009 Taylor Fitch!

On October 11, I participated in the Crop Walk in O'Fallon, IL. This event was really special to me because it raised awareness and funds for hunger of people in my hometown. At Crop Walk, I painted faces, gave a speech about my platform and the Miss America organization, and took a walk around the town! I also got to catch up with the beautiful Nicole Lambert, Miss O'Fallon 2009.

I am very excited to announce that this coming January I will be attending the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas!!!! I am looking forward to the trip and will be cheering on Erin!!! I will keep you updated!

Thank you for reading my blog. I promise to update sooner next time! God's Blessings!
